I used this to repair a broken connector on the spark plug wire on my Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engine that is in my whole house generator.This part worked perfectly. I bought a pair of cheap crimpers made for spark plug wires to attach this. I would have preferred to replace the spark plug wire and coil, but I cannot easily get access to the part of the engine where the coil connects. This is because it is inside a generator box that isn’t a great design for this sort of replacement.I carefully removed the broken connector with a pick and needle nose pliers. I cleaned up the spark plug wire conductor that is folded over onto the insulation by scraping it gently with a razor blade. Then I crimped on the new connector in a position that was 90 degrees from the original connector to ensure a good connection with the conductor that is folded over onto the insulation. After putting the spark plug boot back on I squirted some dielectric grease into the bottom of the boot to make a more weather tight connection.Pro tip: a tiny amount of dielectric grease on the spark plug wire where the boot sits makes it easier to slide the boot on and off.
